FABREGAS
Cesc Fabregas has hit back at his critics after his recent return to
form, saying 'people forget very quickly who you are and what you can do'.
The Chelsea midfielder was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge
in the early months of the season after finding his path to the first team
blocked under Antonio Conte when the Italian chose to set his team up in a
3-4-3 formation.
He didn't play a minute for the Blues between September 24 and December
3 but returned for the 3-1 victory at Manchester City and kept Nemanja Matic
out of the starting line-up for Wednesday night's win at Sunderland, going on
to score the winning goal at the Stadium of Light.
After helping his club to a 10th straight Premier League success,
Fabregas turned on his doubters.
'In football today people forget very, very, very quickly who you are,
and what you can do. Hopefully now I can get a run of games in the team,' he
said.
'People forget that tonight is just the second time in my life that I
have played this system. I am getting used to it, I have lots of players in
front of me in space and protection behind me.
'We want to keep winning, this period in the year is important and we
can say a lot.'

Despite their impressive run of results, Fabregas believes Chelsea can
still be more clinical as they bid for the Premier League title.
'We need to kill games off when we can because we had so many chances,'
he said.
'In the first half we were fantastic - we didn't let them do anything.
In the second half they put a little bit more pressure on us but we played
well.
'I think the performance was very good. We felt we were very, very
strong.'
