HENRY
Despite their thrilling second-half fightback at the
Vitality Stadium, Thierry Henry was unimpressed with Arsenal's display
against Bournemouth.
Arsene Wenger's men found themselves 3-0 down thanks to
strikes from Charlie Daniels, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser
before a Oliver Giroud-inspired comeback salvaged a point.
Gunners legend Henry, however, was left underwhelmed by
Arsenal's sluggish first-half display.
‘They showed character in the last 30 minutes but the
question is why did they not start like that,' Henry told Sky
Sports.
‘If you want to win the league, you have to win in places
like that.
‘They didn’t put any pressure on Chelsea, who go to White
Hart Lane tomorrow night.'
Down 3-0 with half an hour remaining, Arsenal looked
destined for their third consecutive away defeat.
Alexis Sanchez's 70th-minute header fired the visitors into
life before Lucas Perez made it 3-2 with a stunning volley five minutes
later.
The Cherries lost Simon Francis to a red card late on as
Arsenal attacked the 10-man hosts in waves.
Giroud grabbed the headlines with his stunning scorpion kick
against Crystal Palace on Sunday and once again proved the hero with his injury
time equaliser.
The Frenchman's 92nd minute header salvaged a point for
Londoners but he felt they should have come away with more.
‘Honestly, at the end of the game, I’m sure we could have
scored the winner,' Giroud told Sky Sports.
'When you are 3-0 down and come back, believe in our
qualities. I mean, it’s a shame that we conceded three goal like that. At half
time, we wanted to come back. We’ve done well but, honestly, it’s very
frustrating, but well learn from our mistakes
‘I’m pleased to score the equaliser but I’m disappointed.
The way we play at the end, ever if it’s against 10-men, it makes me feel like
we should have got more.'
