COURTOIS
Thibaut Courtois has played down the significance of
Chelsea's visit to Tottenham, insisting the fixture is no tougher than any
other Premier League game.
Antonio Conte's table-toppers take on their London rivals at
White Hart Lane on Wednesday night as they look for a 14th consecutive Premier
League win.
But despite Spurs' recent good form, Courtois believes the
match might not be as difficult as facing some of the division's more defensive
teams.
'It's every game, not just the ones against the top sides,'
he told The Times of
India.
'You have to fight more and more against the teams who
defend against you and are hard to break down, as we did against West Brom, for
instance.'
Chelsea can equal Arsenal's record of 14 Premier League wins
in a row on Wednesday night and Courtois admits his side are surpassing
expectations this season.
'The season is going very well and we are very happy with
the points,' he said.
'Going to Tottenham is not easy and then we go to Leicester
too. These are all tough games.
'With the current run of wins, we can say we are doing
better than expected after a bad season last year.
'We are top of the league with far more points than we had
at this time last year, or even two years ago when we were champions in the
end. So that says we are doing well.'
After facing Tottenham, Chelsea host Peterborough in the FA
Cup before taking on champions Leicester at the King Power Stadium on January
14.
