Chelsea players account for three of the seven nominees for October's Premier League Player of the Month award.

Ilkay Gundogan's double in Manchester City's 4-0 win at West Brom helped earn the Germany midfielder a nomination alongside goalkeeper Tom Heaton, whose performance at Manchester United earned Burnley a point.

Stoke midfielder Joe Allen is on the seven-man shortlist after scoring three goals during an unbeaten month from the Potters, and the list is completed by Liverpool's in-form Philippe Coutinho.

Raheem Sterling and Heung-Min Son won the season's first two awards, which are now decided by votes from a combination of Premier League experts, current club captains and supporters.
