Diego Costa Declared Fit to Face Middlesbrough, Returns to Training after Groin Injury

COSTA

Diego Costa has delivered a huge boost to Chelsea by shaking off the groin injury which wrecked his dream of facing England.

The Premier League’s leading goalscorer resumed training with his Blues team-mates last and is set to start at Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Costa returned to Chelsea early during the international break after being forced to withdraw from Spain’s squad with a groin problem.

Premier League, nine-goal top scorer Costa was assessed on his return and has resumed light training.
And, providing he shows no ill-effects when his workload is increased, he is due to hand boss Antonio Conte a boost and be fit for Sunday’s Boro clash.

Winger Eden Hazard also gave Chelsea a scare when he was substituted early during Belgium’s win over Estonia on Sunday.

But his withdrawal was just a precaution and he will make the Chelsea squad to face Aitor Karanka’s side.

Costa missed Spain’s 2-2 draw with England on Tuesday evening.
