PAUL SCHOLES
Paul Scholes believes Chelsea are capable of winning their
next eight Premier League games after the international break.
Antonio Conte’s side were emphatic 5-0 winners against
Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening thanks to Eden Hazard’s double
and goals from Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso and Pedro Rodriguez.
Chelsea have scored 11 times and have kept five successive clean
sheets in their last five Premier League games thanks to victories over Hull
City, Leicester City, Manchester United, Southampton and Everton.
The Blues make the trip to Middlesbrough in their next game
after the international break before takin on title rivals Tottenham Hotspur
and Manchester City.
The west London side finish 2016 with fixtures against West
Brom, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Stoke City.
Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes believes Chelsea
are capable of securing 24 points from their next eight Premier League
fixtures.
“If they play like they did against Everton, they’ll win all
those games,” Scholes told BT Sport after Chelsea’s 5-0 win against Everton on
Saturday night.
“Tottenham at home is normally a good fixture for Chelsea.
Middlesbrough away won’t be easy. You’d expect, in this form, Chelsea would
have a great chance to get a lot of points.”
Chelsea have only lost to title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool
in the Premier League this season.
Conte was named as Guus Hiddink’s permanent successor in the
summer.
