MOSES
Victor Moses continued his good form for Chelsea in the
current Premier League season as he was voted man-of-the-match in Blues slim
1-0 win against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday.
Moses, who is playing a new role in Chelsea squad under new
manager Antonio Conte, played a pivotal role in the away tie in which Diego
Costa’s goal shut Chelsea to the top of the summit, before he was substitute on
90 minute by Branislav Ivanovic.
Speaking at the post-match interview, Moses told Sky Sports
that he was happy with the team’s performance in the game. “I thought we showed
a good character today right from the start.
“We had a few chances in the first half but we could not
take because the keeper has done very well but second half they came at us but
we were very strong at the back. I am very glad to be in the team and satisfied
with how I have played. We have a new manager who is ready to give youngsters
an opportunity,” he concluded.
Moses had the opportunity to double the lead late in the
game for Chelsea but could not utilized the one-on-one chance with
Middlesbrough goalkeeper, Victor Valdez. Meanwhile, he scored a brace for
Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their 3-1 win against the Desert Foxes of Algeria at
the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium last weekend.
