Leicester
boss Claudio Ranieri admitted he had Tuesday night's Champions League clash
with Porto
on his mind when he hooked off Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez at half time on
Saturday
The champions were trailing 4-0 to Manchester United at the
break at Old Trafford and the Italian said after suffering a 4-1 defeat that he
had accepted the game was gone.
"At that time the match was gone and I prefer to
reserve them for the next match on Tuesday against Porto
"I say this in the dressing room: 'ok we lost, it was a
pity because the first 20 minutes was good, but now it's important to clean our
minds because we now have the Champions League first match at home and It's
important to show our best'."
The Foxes were renowned for their quality from set-pieces at
both ends as they went on to wins the title last season but conceded three
first-half goals from corners at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Ranieri admitted he was shocked to see his side defend so
poorly from set plays.
"It's unbelievable what happened because we start very
well in the first 20 minutes, it was our match.
"But suddenly we switch off; it's not possible to
receive three goals on corners that means you aren't concentrating."
