LEICESTER CITY V CHELSEA
Kick Off:
18:45 GMT. Tuesday 20 September, 2016.
Venue: King
Power Stadium
Chelsea are away to Leicester City tonight in the EFL Cup,
and it’s the toughest clash in the third round o Chelsea could only get a point
against Leicester City last season, as we suffered a 2-1 defeat away from home,
which led to the sack of Jose Mourinho and a 1-1 draw at home on the last day
of the league.
However, Chelsea fans will take solace in the fact that the
Blues have never lost to the Foxes in any cup competition.
The last time the two sides met in a cup competition was in
March 2012, when Chelsea sent Leicester City packing with a 5-2 win in the FA
Cup.
The last time the two sides met in the League Cup, Chelsea
defeated Leicester City 4-3 on 31st of October 2007.
Leicester have scored only two goals in seven of their past
nine home games against Chelsea in all competitions.
The Blues have only been eliminated in round three once in
the past 10 seasons.
The Foxes have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their
past eight home games in the League Cup.
My Prediction: History favours Chelsea to win tonight, and
I’d go with history that Chelsea will run out winners at the King Power
Stadium.
