JOHN TERRY
John Terry will miss Chelsea's Premier League clash with
Liverpool on Friday after being sidelined due to an ankle injury.
Chelsea
confirmed that Terry will be out for 'approximately 10 days' after suffering
strained ligaments in his left ankle following Sunday's draw with Swansea.
'I
have strained my ligaments in my ankle which means I will be out for 10 days,'
the 35-year-old posted on his Instagram page
after going for a scan on Tuesday.
He
added: 'Absolutely gutted, but will be giving everything to get back
playing.'
In a
statement on the club's website,
Chelsea said: 'John Terry’s injury suffered in Sunday’s game at Swansea is
strained ligaments in his foot. He will be out for approximately 10 days.'
Terry
sustained the injury in the final minutes of the 2-2 draw at the Liberty
Stadium when he was clipped by Swans midfielder Leroy Fer.
The
centre back looked in pain as he left the stadium on crutches with his left
foot heavily bandaged.
He
kept his Chelsea supporters updated on Monday night as he watched Sunderland
lose 3-0 to Everton from his sofa at home.
'Ice
machine on watching MNF,' he wrote on Instagram.
'Having
an MRI Scan in the morning to find out the extent of my injury.'
Terry's
absence will be a considerable blow for Chelsea who may hand David Luiz his
first game of the season following his £32million move from Paris Saint-Germain
last month.
