CHALOBAH
CHELSEA are ready to begin talks with Nathaniel Chalobah
over a new contract,
according to reports.
The 21-year-old has finally managed to make a breakthrough at
Stamford Bridge this season – despite being at the club since he was a
teenager.
Chalobah has been on loan to six different clubs in the past
four years, but is now being given the chance to impress under Antonio Conte.
And it seems the Italian is pleased with his work as the
Daily Mirror claim he wants to tie Chalobah down to a long-term deal.
The talented midfielder is out of contract at the end of next
season but talks are set to begin on an extension that will see him offered a
hefty pay-rise.
Chalobah only made his debut for the club last month in their
4-2 win at Leicester in the EFL Cup.
He followed that up with two appearances in the Premier
League and even provided a delightful assist for Victor Moses in their 3-0 home
victory over the Foxes.
The youngster also played a part in Chelsea’s 4-0 demolition
of Manchester United yesterday afternoon, as he came on as a substitute for
Pedro in the 71st minute.
Although competition is rife for a starting spot in Conte’s
team, Chelsea hope their academy graduate will put pen to paper on a new deal
once talks begin.
