Chelsea Vs Leicester Match Preview

CHELSEA VS LEICESTER CITY

The blues are back in league action against reigning Champions Leicester City who like Chelsea at this stage last season has replicated no evidence of retaining the title they had won so convincingly the season before.Harsh right?.The Foxes have lost as much games this season as they had the previous campaign.

The lunch time encounter is the second time both teams meet this campaign with the blues victorious in a comeback win last month in the EFL Cup.

Chelsea's won their last fixture before the recess with goals from Willian and in-form striker Diego Costa sealing victory. Both players found the net for their respective nations as well as Eden Hazard another member of the attacking trio against the Tigers.

The Foxes however were held at home by Southampton.

Chelsea have won seven of the last nine meetings between the two sides, drawing and loosing on a single occasion each. Leicester City are without a league win at Stamford Bridge since 1992.

Team News

While Antonio Conte is likely to stick to the 3-4-3 system that served us so well at Hull City, the manager will be hoping tired legs and fatigue doesn't take a troll on his team that played for their national sides at the recess.

There could be an extended holiday for Willian who lost his mother to cancer on Thursday morning meaning that either Pedro or Victor Moses who is still a doubt could compliment the attacking duo of Eden Hazard and Costa.

John Terry and Kurt Zouma are expected to make a return to the match day squad with the later having spent over six months on the sidelines. The pair provides more defensive options for Conte with Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic struggling in recent weeks.

Shinji Okazaki who scored twice in September's fixture could be consigned to a place on the bench with James Vardy who has netted twice this season expected to lead the line with Riyadh Mahrez and Andy King in support.

The blues are placed five places above Saturday's visitors who have five points less.
