ARSENAL
Rio Ferdinand and Richard Dunne criticised Arsenal players
for their post-match celebratory image in the dressing room following
their Champions League 6-0 win over Ludogorets.
Mesut Ozil, who struck a hat-trick in the easy win at the Emirates,
posted the image on his Twitter page after the match and sparked a debate over
whether Arsenal players should be sharing such images before they've even won
anything.
Former
Manchester City Dunne who was part of BT Sports punditry team last night said:
"It's great when you win something but not a group stage in a
competition."
He
then added: “Arsenal have always been undone by not winning trophies.”
Dunne's views were backed up by fellow pundit Ferdinand who believes
Arsenal should save their celebrations for a time when they are warranted.
Ozil
later backed up his initial post by sharing a short video of him getting out of
his car with his hat-trick match ball in close quarters.
Arsenal players weren't alone in sharing
their delight at collecting them more precious Champions League points last
night. Barcelona's Neymar posted a picture of himself with Luis Suarez and
their hat-trick hero Lionel Messi.
The photo, taken after their 4-0 win over Manchester City
at the Nou Camp, is indeed more casual and reflective - and indeed
away from the changing room.
