HAZARD
Eden Hazard has warned Chelsea’s defenders that they must
help the Blues stay solid at the back ahead of Manchester United’s trip to
Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues secured an impressive 3-0 win over defending
Premier League champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with
goals from Diego Costa, Hazard and Victor Moses handing Antonio Conte’s men the
three points.
The west London side have been criticised for their
disappointing performances in defence in recent weeks in the absence of the
injured John Terry.
Chelsea lost to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool as they
endured a stuttering run of form in the Premier League.
And speaking after Saturday’s win, Hazard stressed the
importance Chelsea being solid at the back if they want to challenge for major
trophies this season.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea’s website, Hazard said:
“Like against Hull City, when you don’t concede goals you know it is easier to
win games.
“When you are strong defensively you bring confidence to all
the team, and it is more easy to score goals.”
Chelsea now turn their attentions towards their crunch clash
with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge this weekend in the Premier League.
